Aquitaine feels a bit like a Parisian café parked in the middle of the South End. There’s
a chic clientele, the energizing hum of close-knit conversation, cozy banquettes and,
of course, a menu of comfortable French classics. Regulars (mostly neighbors who
live within walking distance) rave about the steak frites, but don’t forgo the roast
chicken, which can rival the comfort of a home-cooked meal minus the clean-up.
Sunday brunch is a must; lines can be long but if the weather is nice, you won’t mind
waiting a few extra minutes for the classic omelette Basquaise, which oozes with
ham and Gruyère goodness.
