Does Barnsley Resort offer any planned activities?

Answers from Our Experts (2)

Barnsley Resort feels like a country club on steroids, and experts are available to guide more planned activities than you can take advantage of during your stay. Call the Outpost to arrange nearly every activity. Guided garden tours ($10 per adult) will school nature lovers on the site’s history and more than 150 heirloom rose varieties growing in the Barnsley gardens. Continue to explore the vast grounds on horseback with resident a cowboy who lead one- and two-hour trail rides ($65 and $100, respectively) in addition to riding lessons for adults and children ($65 and $45 per hour). The ponds and a 10-acre lake at the Forbes Travel Guide recommended Georgia hotel offer prime fly-fishing, and instructors will take you on three-hour guided excursions ($150) to give instruction while in the field. Refereed paintball packages, including gun rental, safety equipment and access to the reserved field, can be arranged for groups ($50 per person). If you love shooting, a 14-station sporting clay course delivers target presentations for all levels, and wing shooting hunts ($300 to $750) for quail, duck and turkey can be arranged in full or half days, complete with dogs and guides. Corporate packages comprising six half-day hunts are also available. To top it off, golf, tennis and shooting lessons are available by the hour.

Barnsley Resort offers planned activities, such as wine tastings, golf clinics, wing shooting schools, bird releases during hunting season, and seasonal gardening and crafting classes. We don’t offer special planned activities every day, however. Rather, we make excursions available at your leisure through our Outpost, which handles guided activities and their scheduling. Staff is available at all times to assist guests with their wants and needs as they arise.
