Located between the casual Woodlands Grill (one of the two main restaurants at the Forbes Travel Guide recommended Barnsley Resort) and the tennis courts, the unassuming entrance to The Spa at Barnsley Resort belies the sprawling, 5,500-square-foot facility beyond its front door. The exterior resembles a classic ranch home fronted by a European-style rotunda, and the building is clad in sage green wooden siding. Approaching the glass-paneled front door, you’ll pass through small seasonal flowerbeds and see a small sign next to the door announcing that the spa is a “quiet area.” Walking into the spa feels much like walking into a friendly neighbor’s home—the only real sign of business is a placard describing monthly special treatments. A long carpeted corridor, lined with offices, a salon and treatment rooms, leads directly to the casual reception area that consists of a large wooden desk and a friendly spa staff member.
