Barnsley Resort has two restaurants, Rice House and Woodlands Grill, plus a casual outdoor snack area called the Beer Garden. Rice House offers upscale, seasonal dining in an old farmhouse. With simple white tablecloths, the atmosphere is relaxed, and you may choose to sit on the sun porch for views of the herb garden and Historic Ruins, near the fireplace in the traditional dining room or in one of two private dining rooms. Plan your visit carefully if you intend to dine at Rice House, however, as it’s only open for dinner Thursday though Saturday, April through December. Woodlands Grill is more casual and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in its lodge-style dining rooms. A floor-to-ceiling fieldstone fireplace anchors the main dining room, which leads to a large screened porch that overlooks tee 10 of the golf course. Finally, the Beer Garden offers barbecue fare at its outdoor spread of picnic tables in the center of the village. Find nachos, bratwursts, pretzels and craft beers during good weather, and stick around to make s’mores at night around the big fire pit.
