A selection of artisanal cheeses (both local and imported) is always offered on The Café’s dessert menu. According to the staff, the cheeses change on a daily basis, so there is never a guarantee of what you may receive on a particular day.
Sweet Grass Dairy in Thomasville, Georgia, is a local cheese producer The Café has a strong relationship with, according to the staff we spoke with during our visit. Sweet Grass produces a variety of cow’s milk cheeses. Some of Sweet Grass Dairy’s cheeses, served in the restaurant, include Pimento cheese, Georgia Gouda (made in the style of Dutch Gouda), Asher Blue (blue cheese), Green Hill (Camembert-style cheese), Heat (pepper jack-style cheese), Black Swan (beer washed cheese) and Lil Moo (spreadable cow’s milk cheese, similar to a German Boursin-style cheese).
The Cafe’s cheese course is often paired with honey, Georgia pecan brittle, special homemade jams and a selection of fruits. Your sommelier can help you find a wine that can be paired with your cheese, too.
