Having recently moved from it’s old location in the Grafton Hotel on the Sunset Strip, BOA has settled into its new digs just a little west on Sunset Boulevard. BOA isn’t some steakhouse throwback. It offers an à la carte menu of your favorite surf-and-turf classics—think whole Maine lobster, 40-day dry-aged New York strip steak and premium Japanese Wagyu—but the décor is more like that of a sleek sushi bar than an old-school steak joint. (Of course, since the folks behind Katana and Sushi Roku are also behind this spot.) Put yourself in your server’s hands; despite its modern setting, the restaurant’s staff is attentive, professional and down-to-earth, probably the best elements of an old-school steakhouse experience. Be sure to ask for the secret truffled-cheese nachos (they’re not on the menu) and the Caesar salad, which is prepared tableside to your liking.
