A sky-high Thai-flavored sanctuary

16 Treatment Rooms

The central Rajadamri Road location of this spa puts you right in the middle of the city’s business and shopping district, but the ultra-luxurious Elemis Spa at The St. Regis Bangkok is nothing if not a sanctuary of tranquillity located high above the streets on the 15th floor.

While the hotel’s enticing amenities range from afternoon tea to crave-worthy Japanese cuisine, and a sky lounge to an inviting rooftop outdoor pool, the extensive spa and fitness facilities are undoubtedly a big draw here, too. Once you step into the Elemis spa, a very English brand in an Asian setting, it’ll be hard to place exactly where you are — that is, until you catch the breathtaking Bangkok views from the comfort of your luxury spa suite.

The Setting

Elemis Spa at The St Regis Bangkok is the flagship Asian location for the heralded British label, combining the best of Western modern elegance with Eastern luxury and attention to detail. The luxury spa facilities are set over two floors, with changing areas, relaxation pods, steam rooms, Jacuzzis, cold plunge pools, shower rooms and a tonic bar all located on the lower floor; the 15 treatment rooms are situated on the floor above.

Before beginning a spa experience, head to the lower floor where you can pop your iPod into a sound dock as you take a shower. After you dry off, head upstairs into the “Dream Journey” room where you can choose the therapeutic light color of your choice as you lay back and relax.

After your treatment is finished, continue the tranquil experience by popping down to the relaxation room where you can get city views with a drink from the tonic bar. Take it next level and snag a seat in a floating relaxation pod and let the outside world melt away.

The Treatments

You could while the day away at the Bangkok spa due to its extensive list of pampering treatments from massages, wraps, scrubs, facials, steam therapy, and even non-invasive body-sculpting and firming treatments using advanced technology. If you opt for a facial, your therapist will help you pick the perfect treatment through a computerized skin consultation.

But many come here for the heavenly, expertly administered massages, including an Indian head massage, a warm basalt stone therapy, deep tissue massages and, of course, traditional Thai massage. Pick a signature package and you will spend your time in a luxurious couples’ suite with a shower, bath, relaxation pod and stellar city views.

If time is on your side, try the almost-five-hour Elemis Ultimate Spa Passage, which includes a body wrap, deep tissue massage, facial and pedicure.

The Extras

The hotel’s exercise room is a nice break from stuffy gyms — it is an airy space with wood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the city. It’s filled with TechnoGym equipment and weights, and personal training is an option, too. The gorgeous outdoor swimming pool is flanked by tropical plants and overlooks the city and the nearby golf club of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club’s golf course.

The outdoor Pool Bar has an all-day menu and you may want to take your day of relaxation up here post treatment — there are chaise lounges and comfy seating scattered about and plenty of poolside attendants to carry out your wish list.
