The Northern California town of Calistoga is famous for its natural hot springs and mineral clay baths. The Bathhouse at Calistoga Ranch was opened in 2004 by Auberge Resorts and features five treatment rooms, inspired by the native landscape and designed with organic elements such as copper, stone, wood and water. Four of the treatment rooms feature large terraces with soaking tubs and showers, and all are tailor-made for treatments involving a bath: buttermilk baths, mud baths or thermal mineral pool soaks. The spa draws water from the local hot springs and uses Napa Valley ingredients, including honey, grapeseed and bay laurel in many of the treatments. Other body treatments include a mud wrap said to boot immunity, and an oat and brown sugar scrub to sooth dry skin. Morning yoga is offered in the wine cave.
