You don’t have to take a test to eat at Blue Door, but a certain level of cultural literacy
is necessary to fully appreciate the experience. For example, you must appreciate
that the chef giving Blue Door’s French cuisine a Pan-Asian and tropical twist (think
duck breast with nine-spice ginger sauce) is the acclaimed Claude Troisgras. You must
appreciate that architect Philippe Starck designed the all-white, tropical-cool décor of
the restaurant and Delano hotel. Dinner is also theater here, and it always earns a rave
review.
