Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken—aka "Two Hot Tamales"—ushered in a renaissance of upscale Southwestern cuisine with this flagship Mexican cantina. The atmosphere is decidedly hip, with colorful two-story murals on the high walls, wild and lively décor, and a crowd that's easy on the eyes. Atypical Latin American fare, such as plantain empanadas, halibut ceviche, and achiote pork roasted in banana leaves, bursts with original flavor. Ruby red sangria and prickly pear margaritas pour out of the impressive and crowded bar, which is well stocked with top-shelf tequilas.
