Modern luxury in Budapest's historic center

170 Rooms / 30 Suites

With views over St. Stephen’s Basilica and hints of the Buda Hills and the Hungarian Parliament in the background, The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest captures the pulse of the city in its central location just off the lively Erzsébet and Deák Squares. While the Danube River lies hidden a few streets away, its presence is echoed in the tones of undulating blues and grays seen throughout the historic hotel.

Merging modernity with elements of Old World luxury, the turn-of-the-century relics from the Adria Palace, as the building was first known when it was the headquarters of an Italian insurance company, still accent the hotel’s contemporary design.

The Rooms

The Budapest hotel houses 170 elegant rooms and 30 luxurious suites curated in a cool palette of grays, creams and blues and furnished with contemporary pieces that reflect its modern appeal. Equipped with a luxurious king bed, discreet storage space, a fully stocked mini bar, and flat-screen TVs, the rooms also come with their own mini souvenir shop where you can buy impromptu Hungarian gifts such as artisanal chocolates or a bottle of local spirits.

The bathrooms have a marble bath and a separate shower topped off with a unique heated mirror that deftly eliminates condensation on glass.

Spacious suites offer city views and a living areas ideal for social or business entertaining. The top-of-the-lines suites open up to private terraces overlooking the city.

The Restaurant

Under a stained-glass dome, Kupola Lounge captures the Old World spirit of the hotel’s heritage. Serving an array of international dishes, a buffet of cakes in the afternoon or local Hungarian selection of cheeses and hams in the early evening, Kupola Lounge caters to all types of guests throughout the day.

Beyond the swank Kupola Lounge, the hotel’s other restaurant, Deák Street Kitchen, sports a chic, modern aesthetic — fittingly, as it backs onto the city’s famed Fashion Street. The restaurant has a distinct Hungarian accent and a worldly menu that focuses on regional and seasonal ingredients. Here, among its excellent wine and beer collection, you’ll also be privy to innovative rustic dishes that lie ahead of the Budapest’s dining trends, setting them rather than following.

Kupola Bar in the luxury hotel’s original entrance occupies an elegant lounge under neo-classical columns. Its extensive cocktail and wine list complements a wide selection of snacks such as cured cheeses and a charcuterie plate.

The Amenities

The Ritz-Carlton Club Levels on the eighth and ninth floors may be a sumptuous setting, but you will likely feel right at home. The elegant salon with its round-the-clock culinary offerings, wine bar and cozy living area offers a sanctuary for guests staying on the Club Level, although access is available for other guests at an extra cost. Club services include a concierge, personal check-in and checkout, WiFi and use of the Club Lounge and its amenities (think complimentary breakfast and evening cocktails).

In fall 2016, The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest debuted its new spa and fitness center featuring a naturally lit swimming pool set under a glass roof, a state-of-the-art gym and a selection of luxe spa treatments performed in one of three treatment rooms.
