One of the first restaurants in Carmel to offer a European bistro experience, Casanova has been wildly successful since opening in 1977. All four dining rooms (one of which includes Vincent Van Gogh’s table from Auberge Ravoux) feature a unique charm that makes dining here one of the most romantic experiences in Carmel. The cuisine is heavily influenced by the flavors of France and Italy and includes dishes like pan-roasted fillet of wild salmon with Dijon mustard-citrus olive oil sauce, and pasta with a roasted tomato coulis and goat cheese pesto sauce. The hand-dug wine cellar lies 14 feet beneath the restaurant and holds the more than 30,000 bottles that frequently win Casanova Wine Spectator’s Grand Award.
