The best time to visit JW Marriott Chicago is in the spring and fall, when the city is flush with visitors taking in the pleasant weather and sensational sites (it’s also when the hotel does its biggest business). But Chicago, like any world-class city, is a year-round destination. During spring, summer and fall, it’s comfortable enough to walk to beautiful Millennium Park (don’t miss the free outdoor concerts during the summer). In more disagreeable weather, meander through the nearby Art Institute, second in size only to the Met in New York City. The holidays are especially festive in Chicago, particularly in the Loop neighborhood where the luxury hotel is located — State Street’s holiday windows, Christkindlmarket (an open-air German market with small stalls selling everything from hot spiced wine to tree ornaments) and holiday caroling at Cloud Gate (the massive bean-shaped sculpture in Millennium Park) are all short walks away. The hotel, too, gets festive with grand decorations and roaring fireplaces in the buzzy lobby.
