Sixteen's wine selection is carefully curated by the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Chicago restaurant's young up-and-coming sommelier, Rachael Lowe. Some of the special vintage bottles of wine you'll find at Sixteen come from all over the world. We were especially impressed with the range of wines by Spain’s Bodegas Vega Sicilia including a 1996 bottling of their famed Unico, Burgundy’s Domaine Dujac and Chateau la Mission Haut-Brion, a relatively affordable bottling by the famous First-Growth house in Bordeaux. Other rare wines include the cult cabernet sauvignon Scarecrow from California, the powerful Jacques Selosse Substance Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne (for a mere $620), Didier Dagueneau’s Silex Blanc Fumé de Pouilly and Soldera Brunello di Montalcino, a wine that is not available at most restaurants or wine shops.
