You might think you’ve walked into an avant-garde art museum upon entering the lounge space at Tru. The darkened reception area leads into a lounge with low granite lounge tables simply set with green, succulent plants. On the walls of the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant's lounge and main dining room hang colorful, striking pieces of Postmodern art from the likes of Andy Warhol, Vik Muniz and Gerhard Richter. A cobalt blue Venus bust by Yves Klein stands on a pedestal at the foot of the stairs leading up to the private dining area, and once inside the main dining room, some larger format pieces grace the expansive area. The high ceilings, white drapery, white tablecloths and simple, but elegant floral arrangements provide a clean backdrop. A banquette adorned in a jewel-toned sapphire blue velvet provides the only other pop of color art in Tru. If you lack for conversation during your meal, the installations will no doubt provide fodder for lively banter about your favorite work.
