Public transportation is largely out in Colorado Springs, so sightseers are well advised to rent a car. Though guided tours abound, your own four wheels will ensure that you can cover lots of ground as you see fit, from the nearby canyons, parks and mountain enclaves to the city proper. And you’ll be free to take a detour to Denver, which is a little over an hour away, as well.
Depending on the time of year you visit, your two days can be spent outdoors, but with the appropriate activities — we highly suggest that you don’t attempt a scenic hike in the middle of January. With museums, live music venues and a variety of restaurants — from kid-friendly to romantic — you’ll want to balance your time between the different attractions to make the most out of your trip.
