While summer 2014 renovations at Hilton Columbus at Easton will bring contemporary touches to guest rooms, public spaces will remain largely untouched for now. The hotel’s grand lobby is designed to feel like one’s living room, and it achieves this goal quite well. Comfortable seating is clustered into small groups for private conversation over coffee or other libations from the lobby coffee shop or bar. A fireplace adds to the homey feel, as does the live piano music Emma Frankart on Wednesday through Saturday nights. A mixture of live greenery and silk floral arrangements further support the cozy feel, and the striking collection of original artwork adorning the walls is sure to spark interest. In fact, Olivia Guzman’s bronze statue Umbral that greets guests as they walk in the main entrance of the Columbus hotel tends to be a huge topic of conversation.
Also worthy of note is the palatial indoor pool atrium and spa area, complete with soaring ceilings and tons of natural light. For sunbathers, a semi-private patio is accessible from the pool area.
