Hilton Columbus/Polaris’ swanky interior design style is hard to imagine given the building’s unassuming brick exterior. At first glance, the hotel looks much like any average mid-rise hotel, right down to the columned and covered area you pull into in front of the lobby. But inside, the public spaces feature a retro-contemporary décor, complete with clean lines, dark wood and lots of red and soft orange hues. Low seats and couches in the main lobby are clustered around a gorgeously understated dual-sided electric fireplace, and high tables provide a perfect place to sit and enjoy a beverage from the bar. Artwork throughout the public spaces has a decided abstract feel, but is approachable and accessible, not snobby.
