About Connellsville, Pennsylvania:
Located in an area visited by George Washington and where he owned land, the region has many references to him in place names. The restored Crawford Cabin near the river was the home of Colonel William Crawford, surveyor of these properties and Washington's surveying pupil.
Northwest of town in Perryopolis are many historic restorations. The town square is named for Washington, who some believe planned the design of the town.
