The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas

Elegant opulence in Dallas
VERIFIED LUXURY
Set in the heart of Dallas, The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas boasts all of the opulence expected from the hotel brand.

Inside the extravagant regency-style building, a marble-floored, chandeliered lobby gives way to elegant gray-hued guest rooms decked with the latest in technology. Besides the lavish rooms and suites, this swanky hotel also hosts a 12,000-square-foot luxury spa, a full-service pool area and Fearing’s Restaurant, celebrity chef Dean Fearing’s ode to Southwestern food.

The lobby serves as the hub of the hotel. Stop by The House of Krigler, a prestigious perfumery with a historical pedigree. The new, apothecary-style boutique offers the full line of scents, including ones made famous by Jackie O, Grace Kelly and JFK. Plan to visit the lobby in the evening — at 6 daily, a “guac-ologist” serves bites of the restaurant’s guacamole and samples of the signature margarita. It’s a great way to whet the appetite before dinner or going out on the town. Though for a larger pour, Rattlesnake Bar sits just off the lobby, serving seasonal cocktails and a great wine list. On weekends, the bar fills up with locals, too, giving it the feeling of going out on the town right in your hotel.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Located at the bottom of charming Uptown, the elegant hotel is within minutes of Dallas Love Field Airport, Southern Methodist University and Dallas’s buzzing arts district. Right outside the door is the historic McKinney Avenue trolley, a hop-on-hop-off option that’s great for exploring the neighborhood.
  • Chauffeured Bentleys are offered to guests, so they can roll up to nearby engagements in style and luxury.
  • After a long day of exploring the Dallas-Fort Worth area, there’s nothing better than slipping into the world of relaxation at The Ritz-Carlton Spa. Whether you are looking for a massage or a haircut, the spa has all the services to keep you feeling pampered.
  • While all of the rooms have great amenities, accommodations on the Club Level of the luxury Dallas hotel provide even more personalized service and extra perks. A separate concierge takes care of your every need, and you can snack throughout the day on complimentary culinary delights and beverages in the lounge.
  • Known as the father of Southwestern cuisine, chef Dean Fearing showcases his longtime favorites as well as inventive new dishes at Fearing’s Restaurant. Try locally raised antelope, maple and black peppercorn buffalo tenderloin, and chicken-fried lobster. Don’t skip the chef’s legendary tortilla soup, either — it’s been a menu staple since the beginning. Dinner on the lovely terrace on a nice night is another reason why Fearing’s is one of the most popular restaurants in town.

Things to Know
  • Though Dallas is not much of a pedestrian-friendly city, the Uptown neighborhood where this Five-Star hotel resides is a walker’s paradise. You’ll find plenty of restaurants, parks and cultural centers right there, including the Dallas Museum of Art, which is open every day but Monday and free to visit.

  • The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas is in the middle of it all. Visit American Airlines Center for a Dallas Mavericks game or the Sixth Floor Museum to learn about the earth-shattering day that JFK was assassinated.
  • When planning a trip to Dallas, note that you have two airports within 30 minutes of the luxury hotel.

The Rooms

  • All the rooms in the Dallas hotel recently got an upgrade from Texas-based design firm Rottet Studio, which added cool grays to the contemporary décor as well as fresh art on the walls.
  • One of our favorite features is the customizable greeting to the voicemail — it means your callers don’t have to worry that they’re leaving a message for the wrong guest.
  • While most luxury hotels provide a safe, The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas goes above and beyond by including outlets inside of the safe so that you can keep your laptop juiced up while it’s stowed.
  • Many rooms feature a glorious soaking tub with a stellar view of Dallas. Of course, there’s also a privacy shade, which can be activated by the wall-mounted remote.
