Take the elevator up the second floor of MGM Grand Detroit, where you’ll find the well-equipped, modern gym as well as the spa and indoor swimming pool. All of the gym equipment, which includes numerous treadmills, stationery bicycles and ellipticals are made by Technogym. If you’re seeking an old-school workout, you can get it with the two sets of free weights or one of the yoga balls located in front of the mirrored wall. What we like most about this gym is that it’s especially supplied with everything you’d need to work out: all cardio machines come stocked with a bottle of MGM-branded water, a headset (wrapped in plastic to ensure it’s fresh and clean) and a rolled towel — meaning all you have to do is start moving. And the foyer just outside the gym offers iced tea, fresh fruit like apples and plums, newspapers and water two ways: cold in the fridges and room temperature in the urn. In fact, the hardest part of exercising at MGM Grand Detroit may be having to tear yourself away from the slot machines to don your workout wear.
