This restaurant is a tribute to Hawaii’s most famous athlete and goodwill ambassador, Duke Kahanamoku. The world-renowned surfboarding pioneer and Olympic gold medal swimmer is reflected in photos, surfboards, and other memorabilia on the restaurant’s walls. The two-story restaurant is at the water’s edge at Kalapaki Bay, on Kauai’s southeastern coast, at the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club (see). The open-air, dinner-only main dining room on the second floor is linked to the beachside barefoot bar by a tropically landscaped, cascading waterfall. Outdoor tables have thatched umbrellas and drop-dead gorgeous views of the ocean.
