Fairmont Hotel Macdonald is located in Edmonton’s downtown core, perched high on the riverbank overlooking the North Saskatchewan River, which bisects the city. Just off Jasper Avenue and blocks away from some of the city’s finest shopping, dining, and theater options, the hotel is also walking distance from City Hall, the Art Gallery of Alberta, and the Stanley A. Milner library. Nearby, the 4th Street Promenade is one of the city’s newest (and hippest) strips, lined with independent upscale shops and restaurants. Escaping the urban atmosphere is easy, though: the hotel offers easy access to the city’s extensive River Valley Trail system, the largest in North America.
