Alissa Johnson is a correspondent who lives in Crested Butte, Colorado, and covers the resort town for Forbes Travel Guide. She moved there from Minnesota and now believes that reinvention is always possible, in life and in writing. Johnson’s gone from being a desk-bound flatlander to a mountain biker and rock climber. The thing she loves most about writing is the ability to take big risks without the need for a helmet. Her work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Dirt Rag Magazine, Mountain Gazette and Greenwoman Magazine, and has been recognized by the Colorado Press Association. She is also a founder of WritingStrides, helping writers of all levels unlock their stories.
