Via Luna restaurant is located on Fort Lauderdale beach, inside The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale hotel. Attire is resort casual, and as long as you’re wearing a shirt and shoes, you’ll be served. But you’ll feel more comfortable in upscale resort clothing like Tommy Bahama than you will in flip-flops and cutoffs. After all, you’re at The Ritz, a Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel. Although the menu is expensive, there’s no need to dress in a jacket or a cocktail dress. What is the menu like at Via Luna Restaurant?

Via Luna’s menu marries Italian comfort food with local, seasonal ingredients to give you an easy, breezy meal to enjoy while you overlook the ocean. Begin your visit at Via Luna Bar, where $12 buys a signature cocktail or a small plate from the Bar Bites menu between 4 and 7 p.m., then stroll just a few steps south to enter Via Luna. The menu sections are in Italian: Under Primi Piatti, you’ll find starters; under Insalata, salads; under Pesce, seafood; under Piatti Principali, entrees; under Contorni, side dishes; and under Dolci, you’ll find desserts. The signature dish at Via Luna is the meatball — a jumbo, 8-ounce ball of pork, veal and beef, made the Italian way with milk-soaked bread rather than breadcrumbs. You can add the meatball to your spaghetti for an extra $8 or order it as an appetizer for $13. On the sweet side, warm Nutella beignets steal the show, and come with banana ice cream and chocolate sauce. You’ll find familiar Italian dishes alongside seaside favorites at the Fort Lauderdale restaurant, where it’s always summertime.

How do I get a reservation at J&G Grill?

To secure a reservation at J&G Grill inside The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, make arrangements well in advance to ensure your desired time. Even during lunch service, arriving without a reservation may result in a wait, especially during the resort’s busy winter season. If you are staying at the resort, allow the concierge to secure your reservations. If you are arriving from outside the resort, you may book a table by calling the Miami restaurant directly to speak to a host. Alternatively, you can utilize either J&G Grill’s website — where the booking engine is powered by OpenTable — or go directly to OpenTable to snag at table at chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s contemporary American restaurant.

What is the scene like at J&G Grill?

Relaxed elegance rules the day at J&G Grill, while the night comes alive with a sultry, slightly-edgier vibe as guests gather in The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort’s Bar and Wine Vault, which provides a fitting entrée to the restaurant itself. Eyes of the Stars, a mural by local artist Santiago Rubino, anchors this meeting spot, providing an eye-catching visual experience and serving as a topic of conversation. The triptych saps the color from a pride of peacocks and leaves them in muted grays and white. Live Latin jazz tunes merge effortlessly with the clean, contemporary lines of the Yabu Pushelberg-designed interiors. While dining, you’ll be seated along with sophisticated local couples, business clientele and friends enjoying each other’s company in a glamorous yet restrained setting at the Miami restaurant.

What is the dress code at J&G Grill?

J&G Grill at The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort evokes the spirit of a bygone era when ladies and gentlemen leisurely strolled oceanfront promenades in their finery while on tropical holiday, but today’s dress code is more relaxed. While guests eschew formal attire, preferring to dress in a casual yet sophisticated manner, you will not feel overdressed should you choose to dine in cocktail wear. You’ll see diners wearing chic resort-style clothing — many ladies don dresses and dressed-up skirts — befitting of the timeless, refined modern interiors that surround them at the Miami restaurant.
