What in-room technology does The Quin have?

The Quin, opening in the summer of 2013, features some excellent in-room technologies that will improve your stay here, but won’t be overbearing for technophobes. One of the first things you’ll notice in the room is the tablet placed on the nightstand by your bed. This is the command center of your room and you’ll be able to control the lighting, change the temperature and even order room service straight from this table. A Nespresso machine will provide you with the perfect cup of espresso to jump your system for a day in the city. Once you return, relax and catch a movie or your favorite show on the Samsung LED TV. Be sure to bring your iPod to plug into the Bowers & Wilkins sound system. And you’ll also want to take advantage of the Wi-Fi — don’t worry about an outrageous charge, it’s complimentary at the Quin.

    When will The Quin open?

The Quin is slated to open in the summer of 2013, offering a boutique hotel haven for luxury travelers and art lovers alike. The New York City hotel will take creative inspiration from the building’s past as The Buckingham Hotel. Located near Carnegie Hall, The Buckingham hosted artists and musicians such as pianist and first prime minister of Poland Jan Paderewski (a hotel resident), artist Georgia O’Keefe and Academy Award-winning composer Dimitri Tiomkin, among others. The Quin will celebrate its building’s past by focusing on the arts, with a permanent gallery of Irish painter Patrick Graham’s works, and with Paderewski and O’Keefe suites among the 205 guest rooms. And the hotel’s prime location in Midtown Manhattan puts guests near top-notch galleries, shopping and attractions (Central Park, Lincoln Center and more), and in close proximity to many of the city’s subway lines.
