What golf packages are available at Half Moon Bay Golf Links?

One standout golf package at Half Moon Bay Golf Links is the Legends Golf Package; it includes coastal-view, overnight accommodations at Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay; unlimited golf on the Ocean Course and the Old Course; the resort fee; and access to the Roman mineral bath and steam room, gym, exercise classes, heated indoor swimming pool and tennis on six lighted courts. Before you book your reservations, take care to inquire about tournaments that may be scheduled; for instance, the golf club is known for putting on gala fund-raising competitions such as “Birdies for the Brave” for the Navy SEAL Foundation.

Can I rent or buy golf equipment at Half Moon Bay Golf Links?

Replaced every two years, the latest TaylorMade Professional Line metal woods and irons are available in a variety of shafts, and the Half Moon Bay Golf Links pro shop is loaded with top-notch equipment, apparel, shoes and logo souvenirs. Inventory changes weekly at the 2,200-square-foot shop.

When you sign in for your tee time, ask about the popular professional caddy/forecaddy program. Although five tees on the golf courses make them playable for every duffer, caddies for individuals and forecaddies for foursomes are welcome amenities in the unpredictable seaside climate.

What’s the scenery like at Half Moon Bay Golf Links?

Between the two golf courses and overlooking 50 miles of rocky California coastline, presiding on the edge of hundred-foot bluffs like a dowager empress, The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay is a grand, Shingle-style lodge reminiscent of the Eastern Seaboard hostelries of the 19th century. Fireplaces are ablaze on the terraces and in rather formal public rooms decorated with antique oil paintings that recall the 1800s, when Portuguese shipbuilders settled this seacoast. Tea is taken among the potted palms in the light-filled conservatory. Most guest rooms have fireplaces and window seats with ocean views.

In contrast to the luxury-level enclave of the golf club and the resort, as it has since the mid-1800s, the sleepy agricultural town of Half Moon Bay is a day-trip destination for foodies and beach-goers from around the San Francisco Bay Area.
