What are the best things to do on a romantic trip to Vancouver?

    A dining idea…

Tucked gently on the side of a mountain, Fraîche Restaurant is renowned as one of West Vancouver's most celebrated dining experiences. Combined with Fraîche's steadfast service and inspiring panoramic views, discover why this stylish, relaxed restaurant quickly became a local institution.  Enjoy your mimosas and the famous Green Eggs and Ham dish as you enjoy a view that will last a lifetime. Dressed up or down, Fraîche is a warm welcoming place where the cuisine, service and view will always impress, and will be a truly memorable experience!  Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 14:30.  Fraîche is a simple twenty minute taxi journey from the hotel and is a scenic drive to experience.

For a nice day stroll on Main Street…
Explore the independent fashions in SOMA (South of Main District) between 19th and 26th Avenues on Main Street. SOMA has recently been branded the city’s fashion district with new boutiques arriving almost daily.  For the wife… be sure to journey into the Barefoot Contessa, The Lip Lounge and Lüt Boutique for fashion forward clothing.  For a casual lunch, I recommend Legendary Noodle or for one of the best burgers in town, go to Crave on Main Street and 23rd Avenue.

    Daytrip with nature…
A day trip driving along the sea-to sky corridor is always a great way to spend the afternoon. There are many exotic places to explore such as Shannon Falls, Porteau Cove, and a relaxing lunch at Furry Creek Golf Course.  Or Try Bald Eagle viewing at Brackendale (fall and winter only) and local favourite, Brandy Wine Falls (just 20 minutes outside of Whistler).

    A journey into Lynn Valley…
Approximately 20 minutes from downtown is a great place to get in touch with nature and get away from the sounds of the city.  Lynn Canyon Park officially opened to the public in 1912 and has been a popular destination among tourists and local residents ever since. Lynn Canyon Park is a great location for a family picnic, a leisurely hike, or a refreshing swim in one of the many popular swimming holes. The trails aren’t challenging hikes and there many trails that you can explore as it also tends to be less touristy and the bonus is that it’s free!

What are the best antique shops in Vancouver?

Main Street is a great spot for antique and second hand furniture enthusiasts. Between 16th and 25th Avenues, there are many stores which feature traditional antiques and 20th century nostalgia, ranging from art deco accessories to 1950s and '60s kitschy retro items. Sunday afternoons tend to be the busiest time, attracting groups of browsers and window shoppers.

A vibrant, hip shopping district has also sprung up in just the last 5 years, but already there are tons of clothing and lifestyle stores to shop. Shops in this area tend to cater to a stylish, hip clientele, and often feature work by local designers and artists. The Main Street shopping district runs from Main & 6th Ave to Main & 30th Ave, but continues to expand north and south as the area continues to evolve into a hot destination for sartorially savvy shoppers.  www.vancouver.com/shopping/shopping_by_neighbourhood/antique_row/

South Granville district also has plenty of lifestyle stores and small boutiques. Truly unique, exclusive Vancouver shopping, galleries, antiques, theatre, restaurants, home decor and much more. It's Vancouver shopping at its best! www.southgranville.org/
