Within the gracious Lodge at Koele, this fine-dining establishment is somewhat of an anachronism in laid-back Hawaii. It is, in fact, a formal dining room. The dress code is coat and tie (which the maitre d' can provide, if necessary), and the décor is formal, including service on fine china, but there are distinct island influences as well, such as tables with floor-length floral underskirts. The cuisine is identified as “rustic American” and stresses the use of local produce, poultry, and seafood. In a lovely, serene setting, the restaurant overlooks manicured lawns, lush gardens, and a small lake.
