Gabriel’s is the creation of owner Gabriel Aiello, a charming host who knows how to make guests feel at home in this elegant Lincoln Center spot for sumptuous Tuscan fare. (Think gorgonzola tortelloni with a shiitake mushroom tomato sauce, lasagna Bolognese and a daily house-made risotto.) The restaurant is elegantly dressed with contemporary art cloaking the warm saffron- toned walls. While Gabriel’s may look like a see-and-be-seen hotspot, the restaurant is refreshingly warm and welcoming.
