Pinky rings and massive steaks are the hallmark of Gibsons, a Gold Coast fixture
since 1989. The walls are adorned with pictures of celebs ranging from Muhammad
Ali to Clint Eastwood, but the restaurant is just as well-known as the haunt of local
powerbrokers who make their deals over Gibsons’ fishbowl-sized martinis and then
celebrate with a gargantuan 24-ounce porterhouse. Big spenders go for the surf
and turf, which features a huge Australian lobster tail served with a massive fillet.
You can save room for dessert, but we’re guessing you won’t get too far into the
famed macadamia turtle pie.
