This municipality on the rocky north shore of Lake Superior (pronounced GRAND ma-RAY) is the major community in the northeast point of Minnesota. The area resembles the tip of an arrow and is known as the "arrowhead country." The cool climate and pollen-free air, as well as lake and stream fishing, abundant wildlife, water sports, camping, and stretches of wilderness, make this a leading resort area. A Ranger District office of the Superior National Forest is located here.
