Chef Gordon Hamersley came up with the right formula:
Put simple ingredients into no-fuss dishes and serve them
without a hint of pretension. It’s worked for more than 20
years (diners pack the bright bistro-style dining room every
night), and Hamersley still spends most of his time at the
stove (sporting a Red Sox hat like the rest of his kitchen
staff). The house specialty, chicken roasted with garlic,
lemon and parsley, continues to draw faithful fans and the
crispy polenta smothered in wild mushrooms is a nice blend
of textured flavors. The seasonal bistro cuisine gets punched
up with plenty of vegan options, and while her hubby’s in the
kitchen, sommelier Fiona Hamersley is more than happy to
guide you through the eclectic, though pricey, wine list.
