The Inn at Harbour Town overlooks the meticulously kept Harbour Town Golf Links, home of the Heritage Golf Tournament since 1969. This prestigious PGA Tour event is the only one held in South Carolina, drawing spectators and golfers from around the world and rewards finesse and know-how over strength. The 18th hole sits directly on Calibogue Sound, making it one of the most difficult holes in golf when the wind is whipping off the water; not to mention, this hole is also the spot where more brides choose to get married over any other area of the resort for its beautiful views and lush green landscape.
The first hole sits directly behind this luxury Hilton Head Island hotel, giving guests a spectacular view from the balconies. The course is considered the crowning achievement by famed architect Pete Dye, who teamed up with Jack Nicklaus to design it. The Harbour Town Golf Links was one of the first courses Nicklaus put his name on as a design consultant. Two other golf courses also reside nearby on the resort property — Heron Point, another Pete Dye masterpiece built in 2007, and Ocean Park rebuilt in 1995 by Mark McCumber.
