The RBC Heritage golf tournament tees off on Harbour Town Golf Links at Inn at Harbour Town in Hilton Head. The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel is part of The Sea Pines Resort, a sprawling 5,000-acre property with villas, rentals and two other golf courses. In fact, Heritage was actually established by Sea Pines founder Charles E. Fraser. One of the best courses in South Carolina, Harbour Town Golf Links opened in 1969 and has been home to the stop on the PGA Tour ever since. Since the beginning, RBC Heritage has attracted countless golf legends over the years, from Jack Nicklaus to Arnold Palmer (who won the tournament in its inaugural year).
Designed by Pete Dye (with help from Nicklaus), this par-71 course embodies the rich, natural beauty of the Southern coast, with Spanish-moss-draped oaks, proud palm trees blowing in the breeze and a view of the strikingly blue Calibogue Sound. You’ll get a glimpse of the best vista as you approach the 18th hole — known as one of the trickiest in the U.S., especially when the wind whips off the water.
