The interior design of L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon is sleek and sexy. Once you take the escalator up to the entrance of the establishment you’ll enter a dim, inviting space that is all about dark wood and thick red velvet. The Atelier is set up almost like a sushi restaurant, with a square bar set around an open kitchen. You’ll be assigned a red velvet chair, a perch that allows you to take in the red-hued kitchen that is accented with heaping baskets of brightly colored green and red peppers, bowls of green apples, and fruits that appear to be suspended in columns of “ice.” The colorful foods serve as décor at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, and the black and red place setting atop the dark wood bar provides a neutral counterbalance to all the stimulation in the kitchen.
