The service at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon is top-notch. At first it might seem funny to converse with your server across a dark wood bar at the restaurant as you never see a tray or even a lower half — dishes and drinks will be placed in front of you from behind the bar in a sushi-style setup. But that doesn’t diminish the attentiveness of the staff or their professionalism; rather it creates an intimate experience where you get to watch each of your dishes as they are created, and witness your server scooping up a completed plate and walking it directly to your position at the countertop. Expect the staff at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon to be knowledgeable about every dish and easily able to provide recommendations and thorough descriptions in between offering regular responses of, “Oui chef!” whenever the head chef makes a statement or request (in French, of course).
