Opened in 2005, this minimalist hotel has an unbeatable location across from the Ferry Building. Its rooms are modern but warm, with soothing powder-blue accents and Fresh toiletries to add to the comfort. A series of patios makes it easy to soak up views of the Bay, while a spa and yoga studio (with complimentary classes) provide opportunities to chill out. Although they don’t have a pool, they do hand out passes to the YMCA lap pool. The off-lobby restaurant, Americano, draws a crowd of professional singles, giving the Vitale the feel of a cool local hangout rather than an isolated hotel.
