It’s impossible to say what the best things to order are at The Inn at Dos Brisas restaurant in Washington, Texas, as the menu changes every day. It’s safe to say you can’t go wrong with whatever you order — when you’re given a choice. Three-, five- and 12-course menus are available Tuesdays through Thursdays, and 12-course menus are offered Fridays through Sundays. Menus are built around what’s in season with ingredients coming from the restaurant’s own certified organic garden. The chefs are super creative when it comes to using what’s in season. When we were dining recently, we loved the fig muffins and the heirloom tomato salad. The fried chicken we had for brunch — paired with the best Bloody Mary we’ve ever had using heirloom tomatoes from the garden — was a meal made in heaven. We also loved nearly everything on the multi-course tasting menu where each course is a delightful surprise. A few highlights included a neat little rectangle of smoked salmon with a row of bright orange roe and dots of crème fraîche, perfectly poached shrimp with fresh peaches and a divine duck with creamy potatoes and figs.
