One of Chatham’s liveliest casual bars for much of the day, the Oyster becomes a serious restaurant at mealtimes, specializing in the catch that comes ashore daily at this busy fishing port. Some of the zestiest dishes, such as cataplana (pork and clams) are, like the fishermen, Portuguese by background. During off-peak hours, the lower-level bar in back serves a limited tavern menu that includes good calamari and clam chowder.
