The Wort Hotel, in downtown Jackson, is a great choice any time of the year. In the summer and fall, the hotel is at the center of the valley’s action. (Jackson Hole is the name given to a large valley encompassing many towns including Jackson as well as Grand Teton National Park.) Downtown Jackson is bustling, and it’s easy to drive the 20 minutes to Grand Teton National Park or Teton Village. Each September, Jackson hosts a two-week Fall Arts Festival. If you stay at The Wort during this time, you’re smack-dab in the middle of everything. The Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel has a great energy those two weeks. In the winter, the entire valley quiets down a bit. While some skiers prefer to stay in Teton Village — home to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort — others like staying in town. The Wort Hotel provides a private complimentary ski shuttle, or visitors can easily get around on the local buses. Another reason to stay in downtown Jackson: There are more restaurants, bars, shops and galleries in Jackson than in Teton Village. Also, the renowned National Museum of Wildlife Art and the National Elk Refuge are just a few minutes north of The Wort Hotel.
