For many pizza aficionados, John’s is the beginning, the middle, and the end. There simply is no other. This decades-old standard, located on a congested block of Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village, is almost a dive in terms of décor, but no matter; the pizza—gorgeous, piping hot, bubbling mozzarella-topped pies—is divine. To wash it down, there are carafes of wine, pitchers of beer, and not much else, but what else do you really need?
