La Paella is about as homey and charming an eatery as you could ask for, with quaint trinkets lining the walls and a staff that’s sure to make you feel welcome. The terrific tapas menu—packed with tasty hot options like the patatas bravas (fried potatoes tossed with spicy tomato sauce) and cold ones like aceitunas rellenas (traditional Spanish olives stuffed with anchovies)—makes it difficult to save room for the main course. But exercise a little restraint nonetheless, because you don’t want to miss the paella Valencia mixta, which tosses saffron, meat, vegetables, seafood, rosemary and red peppers into an aromatic, tasty dish. You’ll probably be stuffed after that, but throw caution to the wind and order the light, orange-kissed, delicate flan de naranja.
