Memorial Day Weekend is a fine time to see Wynn Las Vegas’ party side: You can always count on a collective blowout at its various nightclubs, with each year’s lineup topping the last. In 2013, the holiday weekend ran from Wednesday, May 22, to Monday, May 27, and brought the likes of David Guetta, Avicii, Steve Angello, Porter Robinson, Lil Jon and Afrojack to XS, Tryst, Surrender and daytime hot spot Encore Beach Club.
In addition to the electronic-music extravaganzas, Wynn Las Vegas also hosted a famous acoustic musician during Memorial Day Weekend 2013: Garth Brooks. A familiar face at the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star hotel, Brooks was in residence at Encore Theater from 2009 through 2012. He returned for a six-show engagement, beginning with two performances on May 24 and two on May 25. (And wrapping up with two more performances on July 5 and 6.)
If you’re skipping the clubs (or recovering from them), find Memorial Day relaxation at one of the pools at Wynn Las Vegas or Encore at Wynn Las Vegas — besides the main Wynn and Encore pools, there’s a private pool at Wynn Tower Suites and both hotels have top-optional European pools. Get there early in the morning to snag a spot or, better yet, reserve a cabana and enjoy a stocked mini-fridge, plasma TV, ceiling fan and misting system. Cabana hosts will take care of your food and beverage needs, so there’s no need to go anywhere until the sun goes down.
