You should make reservations to ensure a spot at Aureole Las Vegas, but even if you don’t, there are plenty of places to sit while waiting for a table. Hang out in one of the two comfy lounges while your stomach rumbles for chef Charlie Palmer’s classical French cuisine. The downstairs lounge, close to the main dining room, is smaller, so you may want to head to the upstairs wine lounge for a glass of vino to pass the time. The wine lounge seats 13 at the bar and has an area with low-slung small white sofas and lounge chairs with deep-red pillows and several round wooden side tables.
In case you just can’t wait for a table in the dining room, both lounges feature a bar menu. Fill up on tasty small plates, such as the shiitake mushroom spring roll, spicy tomatillo gazpacho with a cucumber finger sandwich and ahi tuna tartare with avocado. Check out the nightly specials and buy-one-get-one deals on small plates from 5:30 to 7 p.m. They will help tide you over until you snag a seat next to the Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star restaurant’s dramatic four-story, steel-and-glass wine tower.
