About Litchfield Park, Arizona:
In 1916, the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company purchased and leased two tracts of land to grow Egyptian cotton. One tract was west of the Agua Fria River and was, for a short time, referred to as the Agua Fria Ranch. In 1926, the name was changed to Litchfield in honor of Paul W. Litchfield, vice president of the company.
