Mizumi at Wynn Macau

Japanese tradition in modern Macau
VERIFIED LUXURY
Blond brick walls, splashes of red and large windows overlooking the lush grounds of Wynn Macau provide a beautiful backdrop for enjoying the exquisite Japanese fare found at Mizumi at Wynn Macau.

The award-winning chefs spearhead the efforts behind the restaurant’s authentic Japanese cuisine. The secret behind their delicious dishes: ingredients are flown in fresh from Japan, including more than 20 kinds of fish, fruit and vegetables.

Intimate counter service is available for those who want to interact with a master chef, while the main dining room is perfect for larger groups.

Be sure to finish off your meal with a drink from the extensive selection of sake; shochu, which, unlike sake, is distilled; and umeshu, a Japanese wine made with green plums. It’s a pleasant experience in every sense.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Order sushi off the à la carte menu. Much of the fish is locally sourced, ensuring that rolls and sashimi are supremely fresh. Or for something more elaborate, try the sushi omakase, an artfully prepared menu spotlighting what's in season.
  • Ingredients come directly from Japan, whether it's sea urchin from Hokkaido or tuna from Aomori.
  • Be sure to peruse the excellent sake list, which boasts more than 40 varieties.
  • Savor the comforting shabu shabu, a Japanese hot pot dish, featuring your choice of protein like black abalone or wagyu beef, and rice or noodles.
  • You'll appreciate Japanese design elements like the steel yellow origami dog sculpture by artist Gerardo Hacer near the entryway and

custom pieces by renowned artist Sush Machida throughout the Macau restaurant.

Things to Know
  • Mizumi at Wynn Macau, which looks out onto the courtyard area that is home to the pool and well-manicured gardens, is located on the ground floor of the resort.
  • The official dress code at Mizumi is casual elegant, which means that the casual wear (like a sleeveless shirt) that some gamblers sport on the casino floor would not be appropriate here. Gentlemen must wear long pants, a shirt with sleeves and closed-toed shoes, while women will be comfortable in a skirt or pants and a top, or a dress.
  • Because this Five-Star restaurant is more formal, reservations are recommended.
The Design
  • Taking cues from Japan's national colors, Mizumi at Wynn Macau is bathed in red and white. Overlooking a courtyard with gardens, the Five-Star restaurant has a muted décor, full of exposed beige brick walls with tables, chairs and design elements constructed from wood.
  • Touches like a collection of obi (sashes worn with kimonos) hanging on the walls bring a bit of Japan to a bustling hotel and casino in the middle of China.
