Desserts at The Tasting Room feature traditional French flavors jazzed up with chef Guillaume Galliot’s creative contemporary twists. On our most recent visit there were five desserts available, in addition to a selection of artisanal cheeses. Lighter options at this upscale Macau French restaurant included gingerbread with lemon sorbet and plums, as well as a seasonal specialty consisting of caramelized apple complemented by cinnamon ice cream and maple crumble. Chef Galliot’s signature sweet dish, however, is the delightful chocolate banana mille-feuille, which is made with multiple layers of chocolaty goodness and teases your appreciative taste buds with varying textures, flavors and even temperatures all in one bite. You’ll be tempted to finish your meal with something less rich, but this is one dessert well worth breaking the calorie bank on.
