Staking out a corner spot on busy Lombard Street in the Marina District in a restored 1928 building, the Marina Inn provides good value and a convenient location for a no-nonsense clientele. Relatively simple rooms have a pleasant English country décor, with pine poster beds and floral bedspreads. Be warned: the bathrooms are tiny, but that’s nothing a little complimentary continental breakfast (which is served in the sitting area on the second floor) can’t fix. Shopping at Chestnut and Union streets is close by, as is the lush and scenic Marina Green.
