If you’re looking for a little culture during your stay at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, there are a number of museums located near this Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel. One worthy stop is the Miami Art Museum, at 101 West Flagler Street, Miami. It’s inside the Miami-Dade Cultural Center, designed by Philip Johnson. You’ll find HistoryMiami at the same address; it’s a great place to learn about the city’s young but vibrant past.
Heading south from Mandarin Oriental, you’ll find the Miami Museum of Science and Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, both located on South Miami Avenue. In the other direction, The Miami Children’s Museum is located on the Macarthur Causeway (en route to South Beach), a short drive from the hotel.
Once you reach the beach, you can’t miss the eclectic artifact collection of the Wolfsonian as well as the Bass Museum of Art, famous for its Egyptian gallery and selection of Dutch and Flemish masters’ paintings.
